Plasma TV FAQs
What’s the difference between a plasma and an LCD television?
A plasma TV uses inert gas, contained in thousands of tiny chambers, much like a neon sign. The gas becomes illuminated by applying an electrical charge. An LCD TV uses liquid crystals which rearrange themselves to let light penetrate when an electrical charge is applied. In either case, a clear, crisp image is the result.
Can I install my own plasma TV?
Of course. However, it is imperative that the TV mount be securely fastened to the studs, not just the drywall. If you’re unsure of any procedures, it is sometimes recommend that you consult with a professional.
How expensive are plasma TV’s?
As a general rule, plasma screen televisions tend to cost more than your average flat screen TV. However, many people feel that the quality of picture is worth the small degree of added expense.
